Our Program Process

CTD’s program management model keeps your tool on schedule and your team informed from feasibility through final approval.

We review your part design, manufacturing requirements, and tooling strategy to ensure a successful program from the start.

Our engineering team develops detailed 3D mold designs optimized for performance, manufacturability, and long-term reliability.

Advanced machining, EDM, inspection, and assembly processes produce high-precision tooling built to your specifications.

Final validation and customer approval confirm the tool is ready for production and program launch.

5-Axis Milling Precision

Our 5-axis machining technology contributes to better lead time, optimum mold performance, and longer service life.

Milling Technology Spotlight

Technology Spotlight

Our Zimmerman 5-axis machining centers combine speed, power, and precision to manufacture complex tooling with exceptional accuracy. Advanced software and in-machine probing verify critical dimensions before components leave the machine, helping ensure quality from the very start. By reducing setups and shortening machine time, this technology helps us deliver tighter tolerances, faster lead times, and reliable results for every program.

  • Greatly improved execution of mold designs
  • Improved accuracy reducing maturation time

  • Higher capabilities mean fewer setups, failures, and waste

  • Unattended machining keeps mold progress moving forward

  • Machining accuracy make molds predictable and repeatable

Industry Expertise

We Know What’s at Stake in Your Industry.

Every market has its own tolerances, launch pressures, and production realities. CTD brings deep industry knowledge to every program — so your mold is engineered for the environment it actually runs in, not just the spec sheet it was quoted from.

Automotive vehicles rely on molded plastic components throughout their interiors, exteriors, lighting systems, and other key applications. CTD supports these programs with injection and compression molds built to produce consistent, high-quality components while meeting automotive production demands.

From appliances and consumer goods to other everyday products, commercial applications can vary significantly in part size, material, and appearance, and production requirements. CTD develops tooling around the specific needs of each product, helping manufacturers turn component designs into reliable, production-ready molds.

Agricultural equipment depends on durable components that can withstand demanding working conditions, exposure to the elements, and repeated use. CTD builds tooling for rugged molded components, including larger applications where strength, durability, and consistent part performance are critical.

Recreational and sport utility products often require large, durable molded components that balance structural performance with appearance. CTD’s injection and compression molding expertise allows us to build tooling for complex components used across recreational vehicles and other sport utility applications.

More than mold building.

Three collaborative divisions. One program team.
